The two Monroe businesses, the Crystal Spa, at 500 Monroe Turnpike and the Blue Rose Spa at 115 Main St., were closed on Tuesday, Jan. 23. According to Lt. The man, wearing dark glasses and a hat pulled low on his head, then demanded the clerk place all of the money in a sandwich bag and left the shop, police said. Bridgeport Man Charged With Stealing Tools From Van In Monroe MONROE, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man was charged with breaking into a van in Monroe and stealing more than $2,000 worth of tools. Monroe Police received a report in November that the van had been broken into at a Main Street business and the tools were stolen. Detectives investigating the incident later located some of the stolen items at a local pawn shop, police said.
