Duo Nabbed For Neglecting 19 Puppies In Car On Long Island, Police Say
Two men were caught on Long Island with over a dozen puppies shoved into just two crates, along with guns and a 2-year-old, police said.
On Friday, Sept. 1 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Suffolk County Police saw the car, a 2022 Jeep Compass, in the parking lot of 301 Merritt Avenue in Wyandanch.
Inside were 19 pit bull puppies in two crates. The puppies were covered in feces and did not have sufficient food and water, air, or shelter, police said.
Russell Brown, 67, and Jamar Belle, 28, both from North Carolina, were arrested. The puppies were taken to local animal shelters.

Man Busted With Illegal Gun On Long Island, Police Say
A man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught illegally carrying a gun on Long Island.
Gabriel Seale, age 33, of the Bronx, was arrested Sunday, June 12, in Inwood, according to Nassau County police.
Officers spotted him just before 9.m. driving a Jeep Compass on Burnside Avenue when he failed to signal while changing lanes, police said.
After stopping him, officers discovered a loaded firearm inside his vehicle, police said.
Seale was barred from having the weapon due to prior criminal charges in April, according to police.

UPDATE: One driver was killed and another was seriously hurt following a Tuesday morning wrong-way crash on Route 80, state police confirmed.
Francis Merrick, 75, was driving a Jeep Compass east in the westbound lane when the vehicle crashed head-on into a Hyundai Elantra driven by Robert Nardone, 80, near milepost 28.3 in Roxbury Township just after 7:30 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry told DailyVoice.com.
Nardone, of Hackettstown, was killed in the crash, while Merrick, of Tafton, PA, was seriously hurt, Curry said.

CT Woman Killed Crossing Busy Roadway, Police Say
A Connecticut woman was killed when she was hit by a Jeep Compass while crossing a busy roadway.
Brenda Bradley, age 74, of New Haven, was killed around 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 29, in Milford.
According to the Milford Police Department, Bradley was crossing Boston Post Road near the traffic light at Costco and Bowlero when she was hit by the Jeep driving by Darleen Lee, age 68, address unknown.
Bradley was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital where she died from her injuries.
