Jerkera B. Battle, a Bethlehem native and Liberty High School graduate, was found dead at 6:06 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, in the hallway of her home in the 700 block of W. Turner Street, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. She had been shot in the head, and her death was ruled a homicide.

A Waterbury man has been charged with murdering his parents in what police call a double shooting.
Javian Adams, 25, faces multiple charges, including murder with special circumstances, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a firearm, Waterbury police said. A judge set his bond at $6 million.

Shawn Lichtfuss, 53, of Voorhees, was found guilty on Wednesday, Sept. 18, of first-degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Stefanie Caraway, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Voorhees Township Police Chief Louis Bordi announced.

A Florida woman is dead after visiting her elderly parents in Maryland, police say.
Tallahassee resident Abby Elaine Dunn, 55, was shot on Friday afternoon while spending time with family in Dickerson, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Officers were called shortly after 4 p.m. on Sept. 12 to a home in the 23000 block of Mt. Ephraim Road to investigate a shooting.
