Two out-of-state men stopped for motor vehicle violations on Route 46 in Bergen County were found to have not only picked up two runaway girls from Virginia but were in possession of loaded guns, a high-capacity magazine, stolen hollow-point bullets, and more, police said.
Ridgefield Park officer Lavrone Green stopped a Penske truck around 11:35 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 in the westbound lanes near the I-95 ramp, Chief Joseph Rella said.

A pair of suspects from Virginia and Maryland became the 869th and 870th insurrectionists to be arrested and charged for their roles in the Jan. 6 riot at the US Capitol last year.
Springfield, Virginia resident Joseph Brody, 23, and Halethorpe, Maryland resident Paul Ewald Lovley, 23, were among five to be arrested by investigators, the Department of Justice announced on Wednesday, Sept. 21.

A female victim was brutally attacked in a domestic-related incident in Gainesville, police said.On August 30, just before 2 a.m., law enforcement responded to the residence in the 14700 block of Soapstone Drive, where the suspect, 23-year-old Draven Lively, pushed the 25-year-old woman to the ground and threatened her during a fight, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
Lively made sure the victim could not reach her phone to contact police and when she was able to stand, he dragged the victim into the bathroom and threw her in the bathtub, authorities said.

Macy's To Close Seven Stores, Cut 5,000 Jobs
Department store chain Macy's announced the locations of seven store closures as well as plans to eliminate 5,000 jobs.The latest move comes after a slight uptick in holiday sales in which Macy's reported a 1 percent boost in sales in November and December compared to the same period last year.
Macy's had previously announced it would be closing 11 stores, identifying four. The seven that were not initially identified are:
