Some lucky Virginia Lottery players rang in the new year with a bang, and are the state's newest millionaires.
Each year, winning numbers are drawn in Virginia's New Year's Millionaire Raffle with five tickets worth a seven-figure prize, and an additional seven worth $100,000.

A grocery store bomb threat, a robbery, and a dramatic chase ended in handcuffs for a man now facing a slew of charges in Prince William County, police say.
At around 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, police say Dwayne Andre Bolden, 35, who has no fixed address, turned a routine grocery store theft into chaos when he threatened to blow up the Food Lion on Richmond Highway after being confronted by an employee.
Bolden fled before officers arrived, according to a Prince William County Police Department spokesperson.

Cybersecurity Issue Hits Stop & Shop, Hannaford, Other Supermarkets, Parent Company Says
A cybersecurity “issue” has led the parent company of a supermarket chain to disconnect some systems to protect them.
Ahold Delhaize USA said it recently detected a cybersecurity issue within its US network.
"Immediately upon detecting the issue, our security teams began an investigation with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts," the company said. "We also notified law enforcement."
The move affects:
Stop & Shop, which has around 400 locations in New England, New York, and New Jersey;

Tuesday was a good day for Maryland Lottery players, with a $50,000 "Bonus Match 5" ticket sold in Montgomery County, along with two "Mega Millions" tickets that are both worth five-figure prizes.
On Tuesday, Sept. 19, the winning "Mega Millions" numbers were: 06-09-13-29-66 with a gold "Mega Ball" of 24 and an optional "Megaplier" of X2.

200 Million Eggs Recalled Over Salmonella Fears
More than 200 million eggs -- some that were sold in New York and New Jersey -- are being recalled for possible salmonella contamination.
Rose Acre Farms of Seymour, Ind., is voluntarily recalling 206,749,248 eggs due to possible contamination with the bacteria.
Twenty-two illnesses were reported as of Sunday, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The eggs were distributed from the North Carolina farm to consumers in New Jersey, New York, Florida, Colorado, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia, along with retail stores and restaurants.
