No, this wasn't a karaoke bar. This was brain surgery.
Vied, a 30-year-old preschool teacher from Keansburg, was diagnosed with epilepsy years ago, but was having breakthrough seizures despite being on anti-seizure medication.
An MRI found Vied had a brain tumor, and she was referred to Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at Jersey Shore University Medical Center neuro-oncologist, Shama Farooq, M.D., and Nitesh V Patel, M.D., Co-Director of Neurosurgical Oncology.

A Magnolia native, Cheryl worked and volunteered as an EMT before a 19-year battle with epilepsy, her obituary says.

Longtime Sussex County resident Diana M. Nutter died Friday, June 26. She was 34 years old.
Diana served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Vernon Township High School, her obituary says.
More than $3,900 had been raised on a GoFundMe in Diana's honor, which says her death was a result of her longtime battle with epilepsy.
Diana was predeceased by her father, Robert L. Nutter; and survived by her son, Owen Scott Torppey; her mother, Linda M. Kelly of Vernon; brothers, Michael Kelly, Donald Nutter, Robert Nutter, and Johnathan Kelly of Vernon; and her sister, Patricia Kelly.

Maeve Anne Kilcoyne died at the age of 9 after a long battle with epilepsy.
A resident of Yonkers, she was the daughter of Thomas and Kim Kilcoyne, sister of Emmet and Wyatt Kilcoyne, granddaughter of David and Beverly McHugh and Aidan and the late Anne Kilcoyne, niece and cousin to many.
