Multiple Guns Recovered During Domestic Disturbance Investigation In Arlington, Police Say
The investigation into a domestic dispute in Arlington overnight led to the arrest of a 56-year-old man who is now facing weapon and other charges, police say.
Eric Salvan, 56, was arrested on Tuesday night following the investigation into the disturbance, which escalated when officers heard the distinct sound of a weapon being slid onto a rack.
According to the Arlington Police Department, upon arrival, the officers identified themselves and knocked at the door, and while no one answered, they heard the gun being stashed, prompting a perimeter around the area.

Police say that a potentially scary situation in DC was resolved peacefully after a 26-year-old-man barricaded himself inside an area home and refused to open the door for officers.
Malik Bowden, of Southeast, DC, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and simple assault, the Metropolitan Police Department announced on Wednesday, Oct. 26 in regard to a standoff that took place the previous day.

A suspected bank robber was nabbed following an hours-long standoff with police at a Connecticut hotel.
Hartford County resident David Latino, age 49, of Southington, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 14, after barricading himself in the carrier Motor Lodge, in Newington, authorities said.
The incident began around 4:30 p.m., when Plainville Police detectives tracked Latino from a bank robbery that had occurred in Plainville earlier in the day to the Carrier Motor Lodge located at 2660 Berlin Turnpike, according to Lieutenant Nicholas Miano, of the Newington Police Department.

Crackdown: 10 Busted, Guns, Drugs Seized, 350 Tickets Written, Cars Towed In Paterson PD Blitz
Paterson police blitzed the city over the weekend, arresting 10 people, seizing two guns and nearly 1,000 heroin folds, among other drugs, and writing 349 traffic tickets as part of a crackdown on rising crime.
The special ops detail “was deployed in our continued strategic response to an uptick in violent crime nationally,” city Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

The Lehigh Valley community is mourning the loss of a Bethlehem police officer who died by suicide on July 4.
Matthew Ragusa was "a beckon of light to countless citizens who needed hope in their darkest hour," wrote Robert Corsi.
Corsi organized a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses and other needs for his wife Stephanie, and three sons, Xavier, 13, Braxton, 10, and Lex, 6. The campaign had raised more than $33,000 as of Thursday evening.

Paterson PD: Ex-Con, 27, Bolts Traffic Stop With Loaded Handgun
An ex-con who ran from a traffic stop was carrying a loaded handgun, said Paterson police who chased him down.
Officers James Iandoli and Joseph Rodriguez of their department’s Emergency Response Team stopped the Honda minivan, which had a brake light out, shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday in the area of Carroll and Fair streets, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
