Retired Nun Of 67 Years Dies In Parkway Crash
The 88-year-old driver killed in a weekend crash on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County was identified as a retired nun of 67 years.
Sister Joan Eileen Butler, 88, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Saturday, Dec. 10, at Bay Shore Medical Center, Holmdel, following the crash.
Sister Joan Eileen was born in Jersey City. She entered the Sisters of Charity on Sept. 6, 1955, according to her obituary.

Woman Struck, Killed By Compact SUV At Long Island Parking Lot
An investigation is underway after a woman was struck and killed by a compact SUV at a Long Island parking lot.
The incident happened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13 in Deer Park.
Anita Levitt, age 80, of Deer Park, was parked in a handicapped parking space in front of 1944 Deer Park Ave. when she lost control of her 2020 Toyota Rav4, hopped two curbs and entered the rear parking lot of 1948 Deer Park Ave., Suffolk County Police said.
She then struck Mary Ferrara, 85, of Deer Park, who was standing outside her 2010 Ford Fusion, according to police.

NJ Man Struck, Killed By Car In Poconos
A man from New Jersey was pronounced dead after being hit by a car in Pennsylvania, state police said.
Allan L. Johnson, 80, of Hackettstown was fatally struck around 12 p.m. Sunday in the area of Paradise Valley Road south of Route 715 in Paradise Township, Monroe County, NJ.com reports citing state police.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver, an 85-year-old Stroudsburg, PA woman, was uninjured, the report says.
