Replica Gun Used In Armed Robbery In Kennett Square: Police
A 52-year-old man has been arrested for robbing a business with a replica gun in Chester County, authorities announced on Tuesday, Aug. 7.
Salvador Lopez-Ortigoza, of Toughkenamon, was charged with robbery and making terroristic threats, among other charges, according to Southern Chester County Regional Police.
On Tuesday, July 30, at 11:15 a.m., police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Latino Mex, 1001 W. Baltimore Pike in Kennett Square.
The suspect displayed a firearm and demanded cash from the store clerk before fleeing on foot, police said.

Both Drivers Hospitalized Following Head-On Crash In Northampton County
Both drivers were hospitalized Sunday evening following a head-on crash in Northampton County, authorities said.
The crash occurred on Lehigh Drive at Gap View Drive around 5:35 p.m., Lehigh Township Police Chief Scott Fogel said in a release.
An eastbound Hyundai Sonata driven by Tanya Piccolo, 33, of Palmerton, collided head-on with a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Gregory Bredbenner, 61, of Northampton, on Lehigh Drive, Fogel said.
Both vehicles’ airbags were deployed.
According to witnesses, the Hyundai crossed over into oncoming traffic and struck the Chevrolet, police said.

A Long Island woman was driving drunk during a crash that killed a pedestrian overnight.
It happened around 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24 in Copiague.
Travis Kernard, age 28, was standing between two parked cars on the street in front of his residence, located at 205 Hawkins Blvd. when the incident happened, Suffolk County Police said.
Annmarie Donadeo, age 50, of Copiague, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on Hawkins Boulevard and crashed the vehicle into one of the parked cars, pinning Kernard against the other parked car, said police.

1-Year-Old Boy, Woman Killed In Horrific Two-Vehicle Route 9 Crash
A 1-year-old infant and a 48-year-old woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash on a busy stretch of Route 9.
The crash took place around 3:30 p.m., Monday, March 1, on Route 9 in Wappingers Falls, in the area of New Hackensack Road, said New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks.
An initial investigation revealed a 2017 Honda CRV, driven by Loraine Baker, age 48, of Poughkeepsie, was southbound on Route 9 and rear-ended a southbound 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, Hicks said.
Baker was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where she died from her injuries, he added.
