'Possible Bear Sighting' In Montgomery County, Police Say Upper Moreland police are asking residents to check their security systems for footage of a bear.  Authorities reported a "possible bear sighting" at 2668 Byberry Road near Farmstead Park early Wednesday morning, May 1.  Police said they are monitoring the area and ask residents to use caution.  "If you do spot a bear, keep your distance and call 911 immediately," UMPD said.  The release comes just a day after police in Upper Makefield, Bucks County reported spotting a black bear on Street Road.

Fisherman Goes Missing In Schuylkill River In Montgomery County: Authorities Authorities are searching for a 70-year-old man who went missing on a fishing trip in the Schuylkill River on Monday, April 29.  The man set off in a kayak from the Upper Merion Township boathouse, 400 Falls View Drive, police said in a release. A selfie posted to his social media around 12:40 p.m. Monday showed him upstream from the launch site, authorities said. Water Main Break Slows Traffic In Upper Merion Officials in Upper Merion Township responded to the scene of a broken water main Wednesday morning, Oct. 25.  It happened around 8:30 a.m. near the corner of East Church Road and Yerkes Road, where traffic was shut down for crews to repair the damage, UMPD said.  As of Wednesday evening, the Aqua Pennsylvania service outage map shows an emergency shutdown on Yerkes Road from East Church Road to Shoemaker Road with an unknown number of customers affected.  The utility company estimates repairs will be complete by 9 p.m., according to its website.
