Animal Cruelty Investigation Launched In Northampton County Police are investigating after a dog was found dead in a cage in Forks Township over the weekend. Officers were called to Frutchey Hill Road and Richmond Road Saturday morning, April 20 for an "animal complaint," Township police said in a release.  A small, brown Yorkie with a green colored bandana was found dead in a cage under a white bedsheet, authorities said. The dog "appeared to have been deceased for an extended period of time," they noted.  Anyone with information is being asked to submit a tip through Crimewatch.

Trapped Victim Freed, Hospitalized As Car Veers Off Road Into Lehigh Valley Field A trapped victim was rescued and taken to a nearby hospital after a car veered off the roadway and into a field in the Lehigh Valley area, authorities said. The vehicle veered off the road and traveled “well into a field,” near Newlins and Richmond Roads in Forks Township the morning of Monday, Feb. 7, the local fire department said. The victim was safely removed from the car and taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
