Beloved Hunterdon County native and Rutgers University graduate Kelsey Elizabeth Flanigan died after a valiant eight-year battle with brain cancer on Friday, Feb. 18. She was 31. Born in Raritan Township, Flanigan graduated from Rutgers University, her obituary says. Flanigan loved performing, writing, and directing and spent time in Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry following her initial cancer diagnosis in 2014, her memorial says. Unconscious Driver Flown To Hospital As Car Slams Into Concrete Divider, Flips On Route 202
A driver was rescued and flown to a nearby hospital after crashing into a concrete divider on Route 202 Wednesday evening, authorities said. The man was driving northbound on Route 202-31 at Copper Hill Road in Raritan Township and hit the concrete divider at the intersection before the vehicle flipped and landed on its tires in the southbound lanes shortly before 6:25 p.m., the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad said. Driver Hospitalized As Dump Truck Overturns In Hunterdon County
A dump truck driver was hospitalized after the vehicle overturned in Hunterdon County, authorities said. The vehicle overturned at the intersection of County Route 579 and Route 523 near the border of Delaware and Raritan Townships the afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 9, according to the Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad. A Philadelphia man pretended to be asleep and later provided police with a fake name after stealing from a Polo Ralph Lauren outlet in Hunterdon County, authorities said. Two men were hospitalized with injuries after a car crash in Warren County over the weekend, authorities said. Hunterdon Central High School junior and varsity lacrosse goalie Alexea Karpinski died Nov. 21. She was 17. Born and raised in Raritan Township, Karpinski was known for her love of sports, particularly lacrosse. She played as goalie for the Hunterdon Central Red Devils as well as for the Triple Threat Elite Club Team, her obituary says. Karpinski had a goal of playing D1 lacrosse while pursuing an exercise science degree. She wanted to become a professional athletic trainer, her memorial says.
