Shots were fired during a domestic dispute at an Allentown home Friday morning, July 26, according to city police. It happened on the 500 block of North 13th Street around 8:45 a.m., authorities said in a release. Fentanyl, Ecstasy Seized In Allentown Drug Bust: Police
A kilogram of fentanyl and more than 300 tablets of ecstasy were confiscated during an arrest in Allentown on Friday, July 19, authorities said in a release. Officers were investigating on the 800 block of Chew Street when they took 50-year-old Tyrone Fowler into custody, APD said. The drugs were found on Fowler's person after his arrest, according to officials. Support is on the rise for the family of a 14-year-old Allentown girl who died unexpectedly last week. Gabriella "Gabby" Velazquez, a rising sophomore at Allentown Central Catholic High School died on Thursday, July 11, according to her obituary on the Schantz Funeral Home website. As of press time, more than $6,500 had been raised on a GoFundMe for her family launched by Sarah Kleppinger. For at least the second time this month, a man has died while tubing in the Lehigh Valley, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. This time it was a father of seven children, a family friend told Daily Voice. Antwan D. Daring, 35, of Bethlehem, drowned in the Lehigh River near Waterfront Drive in Allentown on Monday afternoon, July 15, officials said. An Allentown Catholic high school has announced the death of one of its students. Gabriella "Gabby" Velazquez, a rising sophomore at Allentown Central Catholic High School died suddenly, the school announced on Friday, July 12. A cause of death was not provided. World Cup Easton, an area cheer squad, said Velazquez was "a vibrant, loud, positive light." "She always kept you smiling and laughing. First responders were called to an apartment building in Allentown for a three-alarm fire on Monday evening, July 8. The multi-vehicle wreck happened near mile marker 31 in Hamburg, state police said in a release.
