South Jersey Man Indicted In Crash That Killed 8-Year-Old Philly Boy: Prosecutor A 25-year-old man from South Jersey has been indicted in a crash that killed an 8-year-old boy from Philadelphia last summer, authorities said. Edward W. Johnston, of Galloway Township, was charged with aggravated manslaughter after an investigation found he struck a parked vehicle with the boy in it, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Johnston allegedly was intoxicated and speeding at the time of the crash, the prosecutor said. Pennridge Regional police officers tried to stop a black Nissan Sentra with a stolen license plate on Wednesday, March 2, but were unable to reach the car, they said. It was discovered 12 minutes later, around 4 a.m., by Richland Township police officers. Nancy Amoroso, 86, of Morrisville, was traveling South on Hood Boulevard in a 2017 Nissan Sentra when she experienced a medical emergency, and veered across the opposite lane, striking a parked unoccupied car, around 7:50 a.m., according to Falls Township police chief Nelson Whitney.
