Sex Offender Wilfredo Rodriguez Charged With Murder

Someone who was stabbed and rushed to Lancaster General Hospital has died, and police announced the following morning that the suspect is already in custody.

Wilfredo Rodriguez, a 44-year-old registered sex offender living on Ann Street in Lancaster, convicted of sexually assaulting a minor, according to the state registry — has been charged with the following for allegedly stabbing someone to death, as detailed in his latest court docket:

  • Homicide Murder Of The First Degree.
  • Homicide Murder Of The Second Degree.
  • Felony Murder Of The Third Degree.
  • Felony Robbery-Inflict Serious Bodily Injury.
  • Misdemeanor Terroristic Threats With the Intent To Terrorize Another.

The stabbing happened in the 400 block of East Chestnut Street near North Ann Street around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, as the Lancaster City Bureau of Police detailed in the release. 

The victim was pronounced dead and the homicide suspect, Rodriguez, was already in custody, according to an update by the police at 7:12 a.m. on July 12.

In addition to his sexual assault of a minor conviction, Rodriguez also has been convicted of trespass, simple assault, terroristic threats, drug offenses, risking a catastrophe, tampering with a fire apparatus, institutional vandalism, false alarms to an agency of public safety, threats — and in 2003 a homicide charge was filed against him but a nolle was processed, court records show. 

He has been held in the Lancaster County Prison after being denied bail, as stated in his latest court docket. His preliminary hearing is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Andrew T. LeFever at 9 a.m. on July 19.
