A Florida man who violently raped a young girl for years in Lancaster County and threatened to kill her family if she spoke out will spend up to 80 years in Pennsylvania state prison, prosecutors announced.
Ricardo Vilorio-Hernandez, 56, of Tampa, was sentenced to 40 to 80 years in prison on Tuesday, Feb. 18, by Lancaster County Judge Thomas Sponaugle, who called his crimes “horrible” and said he “deserves a long sentence.” The judge also classified him as a sexually violent predator.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 400 block of Green Street at 4:26 p.m. on Dec. 13, 2024, police said. Following weeks of investigation, authorities identified 39-year-old Lindsay Colon and her 15-year-old son, Amari Poole, as suspects in the case, according to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police.

An 18-year-old man is wanted for his involvement in a shooting in Lancaster City, police announced on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
Norman Coleman has been charged with carrying a firearm without a license, persons not to possess firearms, and discharging a firearm, according to the Lancaster City Bureau of Police.
The charges stem from a shooting that injured two minors in the 300 block of Mill Street on Oct. 25, authorities said.

A Lancaster County mother is accused of giving her teenage sons access to guns used in a September shootout, police announced on Friday, Nov. 15. One of those sons has also been charged in his cousin's murder.
Brandi Whisman, 42, of New Providence, was arraigned Tuesday, Nov. 14, on charges of endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors. Investigators said she gave her sons permission to take the guns whenever they wanted, providing a key and telling them where the firearms were located.

A man has admitted to raping a child in his care and filming it, the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office announce on Monday, Jan. 8.
On Wednesday, Jan. 3, Arturo Aleman, 47, of the 100 block of Green Street, Lancaster, admitted to raping a child in his care in Lancaster and Berks counties from 2016 through 2022.
