PA Realtor Convicted Of Killing Father, His GF In Jersey Shore Waterfront Home
A Pennsylvania realtor was convicted of killing her father and his girlfriend on the Jersey Shore, authorities said. After a four-week trial, a jury found Sherry Lee Heffernan, 57, of Landenberg, PA, guilty of two murder counts on Friday, Mar. 1, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced in a news release. An Ocean County man was killed in a snowmobiling accident near a popular Vermont ski area, according to his obituary. Matthew Morris of Point Pleasant Beach died from his injuries on Tuesday, Feb. 20 while snowmobiling near Stratton Mountain Resort, his obituary said. He was 31 years old. A propane tank is to blame for the home explosion that killed a 45-year-old Jersey Shore man on Tuesday, Oct. 31, authorities said. A small earthquake rattled parts of South Jersey Wednesday morning, authorities said. The tiny temblor was a 2.4 magnitude quake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. Numerous 9-1-1 calls from people who felt the earthquake came into Ocean County police agencies starting at 7:52 a.m., initial reports said.
