I-95 Barricade: Armed Driver In Custody After Standoff, Philly Police Say Traffic slowed to a halt on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia Friday morning as police were involved in a standoff with an armed driver, authorities told Daily Voice.  It began around 8:30 a.m. when officers spotted an "erratic" driver in the southbound lane near the Girard Avenue exit, police said.  When a PPD lieutenant pulled the car over, officials said the driver got out with a pistol in his hand.  Police ordered the driver to put the weapon down while they called for SWAT and crisis-intervention-trained backup, the department said.  The man allegedly "placed (th…

Delco Cops Commended For Rescuing 'Person In Crisis' On Train Tracks Two policemen in Delaware County were commended by the top brass for their "outstanding and compassionate work" assisting a resident in crisis on Thursday, March 30.  Officers James Mansfield and Nicholas Denton of the Prospect Park Police Department received praise from Chief Dave Madonna for rescuing the resident, who "was going through a difficult situation" near Amtrak rails in the borough, the chief said in a statement.
