Lower Chichester Township police were called to the corner of East Ridge Road and Market Street around 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, the department said in a release.

They arrived to find a man with injuries to his head, shoulder, and elbow, police said.

While the pedestrian told officers he fell while crossing the street, witnesses said he was hit by a car and provided a vehicle description, authorities said. One woman said she followed the car after it fled the scene and was able to give officers the vehicle's license plate number.

"Due to the nature and allegations made by some of the witnesses, this incident is still under investigation," Lower Chichester police said.

Anyone who captured the crash on video or took a photo of the car is asked to call police at 610-485-2760 or submit a tip online.
