While many news outlets covering South Central Pennsylvania have turned the TV News reports and websites to seemingly endless coverage of the "hour-by-hour" snow reports, the National Weather Service predicts less than one inch of snow will fall in the region.
Additionally, the NWS projects more of a "wintry mix" than actual snow, except in areas of higher elevations. Wind and fog are more likely than a winter wonderland, based on the projections.
One of the services's reports even talks of sun and clouds before the "snow, mixed with rain early on, will move northward this evening," as stated in Monday's forecast into Tuesday.
The only possible snowfall in the region is predicted around the time of morning commutes, at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, but then shifts back to the wintry mix and will move completely out by the afternoon, according to the NWS.
No snow is expected to stick and it will be too warm for severe ice, although drivers are urged to use caution on the roads.
