Child MedEvaced From Silo In South Central Pennsylvania: Authorities A child was rescued from a grain silo in South Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening, authorities announced.  Crews with the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Company arrived at a reported farming accident on Newcomer Road at 5:51 p.m. on Oct. 24.  They found that child was actually lodged in the grain auger between the silo and a feed truck. "A grain auger is a long tube used to raise and transport grain from the ground to the top of grain bins, load trucks from the grain bin or carry feed from a wagon to cattle feeders on a farm," according to the Farm Injury Resource Center. …

Team Of Horses Tramples Amish Teen To Death In Central PA: Authorities An 18-year-old Amish man has died after a serious farming accident in Lancaster County, authorities told Daily Voice on Monday, July 31, 2023.  Aaron Stolzfus had been doing farm work involving horse-drawn equipment at his home when the team of horses trampled him on Saturday afternoon.  Pennsylvania State Police were called to the incident at a farm on Picadilly Hill Road near Stony Hill Road in Eden Township. Amish Baby Killed In Farming Accident ID'd In Central PA The 18-month-old girl killed by a family member in a farming accident in Central Pennsylvania has been identified. Kristiana Joy King was run over by a skid loader on the 700 block of East End Mountain Road in Lamar Township at 4:33 p.m., on Wednesday, April 5, according to a release by Mill Hall police late on Friday.
