Coroner IDs Berks Man Killed In Rt. 222 Crash Officials have identified the driver killed in an accident on Route 222 in Berks County over the weekend.  Ernest Lee McLean, 56, of Blandon, was driving near Old Topton Road in Maxatawny Township at around 5 a.m. on Saturday, April 29 when his car hit a tractor-trailer, said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio in a release.  McLean was pronounced dead around noon on Monday, May 1, the coroner wrote. His cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries and the manner was accidental, Buglio added.  The crash remains under investigation by state police, according to the release.…

Suspect Charged In Kutztown Teen's Killing, State Police Say Pennsylvania State Police have charged a man with the murder of an 18-year-old near Kutztown University campus, officials say.  Xzavier Wayman, 22, of Philadelphia, was arrested Monday, Dec. 5, and charged with first- and third-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Diego Velazquez, state police said.  As Daily Voice has reported, Velazquez was shot just before 1 a.m. at the Advantage Point off-campus student housing development on Baldy Road in Maxatawny Township on Tuesday, Nov. 22.  University officials have said Velazquez was not a Kutztown student, and authorities…

18-Year-Old Shot Dead At Reading Student Housing Complex An 18-year-old man was shot and killed in Reading, authorities said. Diego Velazquez was shot around 12:50 a.m. at the Blady Road-Advantage Point off-campus student-housing development in Maxatawny Township, the Lehigh County Coroner's Office said. Velazquez's death, which occurred near Kutztown University, was ruled a homicide with an autopsy scheduled for Monday, Nov. 14. In addition to the coroner's office, this death is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police, Reading Station and the Berks County District Attorney's Office.
