Berks Cops Find Drug Lab During Search Of Home: Authorities A Berks County man is charged with manufacturing drugs after police searched his Boyertown home.  Eastern Berks Regional Police officers and state troopers were investigating a "suspicious situation" at a property on the 200 block of Shaner Street when they made the discovery Wednesday, May 31, they said in a release.  Inside, police said they found "various different household chemicals" being used to make an "illegal substance." Police ID Pedestrian Killed In Berks Hit-Run The pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run in Berks County Sunday night has been identified, authorities announced.  James Falasca-Carter Jr., 33, of Boyertown, was walking along Powder Mill Hollow Road in Earl Township at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23 when a southbound car struck him, state police said in a press release.  A passing driver reported spotting his body early in the morning on Monday, Oct. 24, officials had previously said.  The striking vehicle was located last night and is in police custody awaiting processing. Motorcyclist, 22, Killed In Berks County Crash ID'd As Area Baseball Player Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a Berks County crash as a 22-year-old man. Anthony Rota, of Boyertown, was heading west on Route 422 when he lost control and struck a guardrail around 8:30 a.m. in Exeter, according to police. Rota, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead around 5:45 p.m. Friday at Reading Hospital, authorities said. Witnesses told police that speed was a factor.
