All 3 Construction Workers Struck Dead On I-83 In PA ID'd By Coroner All three men who were struck dead while working in a construction zone on Interstate 83 have been identified by the York County Coroner's office on Thursday evening.  The men have been identified as follows, Coroner Pam Gay stated in a release on April 18: Jesse McKenzie, 24 of the 100 block of Village Way, Somerset, who died of "Multiple Blunt Force Trauma." Robert Hampe, 42 of the 100 block Hickory Street, Meyersdale, who died of "Multiple Blunt Force Trauma." Passenger ID'd After Airplane Crash Into Truck On PA Turnpike (Update) One person has died and another has been seriously hurt following a plane crash into a truck on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Capital City Airport, authorities say. Lawrence "Larry" Sager, 74, of Hummlestown died of multiple traumatic injuries from the crash at UPMC Harrisburg at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 and the plane is registered to Kenneth "Ken" Sager of Hummlestown, according to the FAA. 70+ Car Crash Closes Route 581 For Hours A pileup involving approximately 70 vehicles will shut Route 581 in Cumberland County indefinitely Saturday, March 12. The crash was reported on the eastbound side near mile marker 7.1 around 2:10 p.m., in the wake of the afternoon snow storm. It happened between exits for Route 15 and I-83. Several injuries were reported, though none were life-threatening, authorities said. Drivers sat in traffic for two or three hours, some without heat, before being reunited with their families or taken to a local firehouse for treatment.

I-83 Driver Missing After Crash, Police Say Police in Dauphin County are looking for a driver they say went missing following a crash on I-83. Stephen Salazar, 61, has not been seen or heard from since his involvement in a crash on northbound I-83 near the 2nd Street exit on December 23 around 5:30 p.m., Lower Paxton Township police said. Salazar is 5'8" tall and described as having a heavy build with black hair. Driver Hospitalized In Central PA Road-Rage Shooting, Suspect At-Large, Police Say A road rage incident escalated to gun violence on Thursday, according to police. A black Acura SUV and a white SUV with tinted windows got into a “road rage incident" on Route 22 near the I-83 overpass just after 12 p.m., according to Susquehanna Township police.  The two vehicles continued on to Walnut Street when the driver of the white SUV fired a single shot into the black Acura SUV.
