The sinkhole opened up in the area of South 3rd and Chestnut streets in Wrightsville Borough around 7 p.m.
Although this sinkhole is Wrightsville elementary School, the school hours have not changed for Thursday.
The hole is approximately 15 by 30 inches, according to local officials.
Repair is already underway and the road is expected to reopen by Thursday night.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
