Easton Man Dies Swimming In Delaware River: Coroner A 60-year-old Easton resident died while swimming in the Delaware River on Wednesday, July 24, according to the Northampton County Coroner's Office.  Louis A. Cosenza's body was recovered from the river in Williams Township, officials said in a release.  He was "using a floatation device" when he went into the water for an unknown reason and didn't resurface, the Coroner's Office said. I-78 Crash Slows Traffic In Lehigh Valley: PennDOT All lanes of Interstate 78 are closed in Williams Township after a crash near the New Jersey border, according to transportation officials.  The wreck happened in the westbound lanes near Exit 71 (PA 33) around 2:35 p.m., said PennDOT on the 511pa website. Coroner Names Driver Killed In Williams Township Crash A 25-year-old man died in a single-car crash on Thursday morning, June 6, authorities say.  Rashon Christian-James Cooke of Philadelphia crashed at the corner of Berger and Diehl roads in Williams Township, said the Northampton County Coroner's Office.  According to state police, Cooke was headed west on Diehl when his truck left the roadway, struck an embankment, and then hit a traffic sign before overturning. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  His cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, the Coroner's Office added.

Victim ID'd In Deadly Palmer Twp. Crash The Northampton County Coroner's Office has named the 77-year-old woman who died in a Palmer Township crash on Thursday, March 21.  Linda J. Koy of Williams Township died from blunt force injuries, said Coroner Zachary Lysek in a release. The manner of death was accidental.  The crash happened near the intersection of Van Buren and Lower Way roads, police said Thursday. Van Buren Road was shut down while crews worked the scene.  Koy was taken to St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus where she died from her injuries, the Coroner's Office said.

Troopers Investigate Early-Morning Gun Shop Burglary In Northampton County State police are searching for answers after an Easton-area sporting goods store was broken into and robbed of multiple firearms, according to a release.  Troopers say 507 Outfitters, 1000 Belmont Street in Williams Township, was burglarized around 2 or 3 a.m. on Friday, April 28.  An unknown number of guns were taken, though police did not describe the missing merchandise.  The matter remains under investigation by troopers at the Belfast Station, the release adds.

Easton Motorcyclist, 32, Killed In Head-On Crash With SUV A 32-year-old Easton motorcyclist was killed in a crash with an SUV last week, authorities said. A Dodge Durango was turning left from Route 611 North onto Browns Drive in Williams Township around 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, Pennsylvania State Police said. The SUV crossed into the oncoming lane and hit Benjamin Blampied head-on in the southbound lane, police said.  Blampied, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead, authorities said.

James Dziedzic, 66, was riding a gray Argon 18 bicycle when he hit the pavement near Steely Hill and Wassergass Roads in Williams Township around 2:05 p.m., PSP Trooper Richard Matlock said. Dziedzic, of Williams Township, was treated by Easton Ambulance Squad and taken to Saint Luke’s Fountain Hill, where he was pronounced dead, Matlock said.
