Dozens Suffer Burns From Recalled Heated Blankets: What To Know
Nearly 200,000 heated blankets and heating pads are being recalled after more than 50 people suffered burns.
JKMAX issued the recall for about 195,000 heated blankets and heating pads, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, Sept. 17. The products were imported by Jiande Pengshuai Trading Co., Ltd., of China.
The blankets and pads can overheat because of their internal wire heating elements, posing fire and burn hazards. JKMAX has received 577 reports of the products smoking, melting, or burning, including 53 burn injuries, according to the CPSC.

Several Hand Soaps Sold In PA Recalled Over Bacterial Contamination Risk
Several hand soaps distributed across the Northeast are being recalled because they may be contaminated with bacteria.
Intercon Chemical Co. issued the voluntary recall for six hand soap products, according to a Food and Drug Administration enforcement report classified on Friday, Sept. 11.
The soaps were distributed through wholesalers and a retailer in New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. They were also available in North Carolina, Mississippi, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Georgia, California, Illinois, Iowa, Texas, and Washington.

More than 15,000 office chairs are being recalled after reports that the backrests detached, creating a fall hazard.
Branch issued the recall for about 16,000 of its Ergonomic Chairs, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, Sept. 3. About 180 additional chairs were sold in Canada.
The recall applies to height-adjustable chairs with backrest anchors that were installed incorrectly during manufacturing. The affected chairs were made between Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, and Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
