A Harleysville man is facing homicide by vehicle charges after a DUI crash killed a beloved Hatfield Township couple who had been married for 63 years, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Hatfield Township Police Chief William J. Tierney announced Thursday, Dec. 19.
Michael Lennon, 21, was arrested following the June 8, crash at the intersection of Bergey Road and Bethlehem Pike, which left Jaime Burgos, 86, and Eva Burgos, 79, fatally injured, officials said.

The lucky winner matched all five numbers pulled in the Treasure Hunt drawing on Saturday, Dec. 23 to win the nominal jackpot prize of $138,559.50.

Longtime Perkasie Fire Captain Dies At 55
Christopher R. Pettit Sr., a Fire Police captain with the Perkasie Fire Company, died suddenly on Friday, June 30, his loved ones said in his obituary. He was 55.
Pettit, of East Rockhill, had worked in the Fire Police for 15 years, relatives wrote.
He had previously served his community as a 911 dispatcher for Bucks County Emergency Communications, and prior to that was a certified EMT for the Harleysville and Central Bucks Ambulance Corps, his obit says.
After Pettit's passing on Friday, his Perkasie colleagues penned a tribute on social media.

Beloved Montgomery County wife and mother of two Heather Betz died at home Thursday, Dec. 8, according to her obituary. She was 31.
A Montco native, Heather was a graduate of the 2009 class at Upper Merion High School and was most recently living in Harleysville, loved ones wrote. Most recently, she worked in advertising at her family business, Betz HVAC, according to her Facebook.

3 Guns Seized At Philadelphia International Airport In Past Week: TSA
TSA officers at Philadelphia International Airport have seized three guns in the past week, officials said Monday.
On Friday, Jan. 28, a Georgia man tried to bring a .40 caliber handgun onto a plane, the Transportation Security Administration said.
The man claimed that the gun found in his carry-on bag was a training weapon, however, it was an actual functioning firearm, according to TSA officials.
It was the third handgun discovered by TSA officers at airport checkpoints in seven days.

Police ID 27-Year-Old Dad Killed In Sumneytown Pike Crash
Police have identified the victim of a fatal crash on Sumneytown Pike as a 27-year-old Harleysville man.
Jordan Sims was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt, with a 24-year-old female passenger, also from Harleysville, in the front passenger seat at the time, westbound, when it struck a 2006 Nissan Murano in the eastbound lane, Towamencin Police Chief Tim Troxel said.
The 25-year-old Nissan driver, from Philadelphia, and Sim's passenger were injured.
Sims, who leaves behind a son and a daughter, was pronounced dead.
The crash remained under investigation as of last Friday.
