Meadowlands Hotel Housekeeper Finds Loaded Gun In Room, PA Guest Goes To Jail
A Pennsylvania man found himself in jail after a housekeeper at a hotel across the highway from MetLife Stadium found a loaded gun in his room, authorities said.
The 9mm Springfield Armory XD-E pistol found on a nightstand at the Hilton Meadowlands on eastbound Route 3 had eight hollow-point bullets in the magazine and a round in the chamber, East Rutherford Police Capt. Jeff Yannacone said.
Royal Spraggins, 35, of Sharon Hill, PA, remained held in the Bergen County Jail on Tuesday, July 11, pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, records show.

DMV Imposter Dupes Victims Out Of $1,500 To $2,000 Each, More Pawns Possible, Lodi PD Says
A con artist impersonating a DMV employee took dozens of unsuspecting customers for a ride, fleecing them out of tens of thousands of dollars, before Lodi police put the brakes on the heartless scheme, authorities said.
Mohammad A. Aburomi, 61, actually had his victims meet him at the agency's offices in Lodi and Wayne, where he promised to help them cut the line for payments of $1,500 to $2,000 each, investigators found.

Salesman Tackles Gunman, Holds Him For Paramus PD During Route 4 Clothing Store Robbery
A suit salesman took down a gun-wielding robber and held him for police during the attempted holdup of a Route 4 men's clothing store in Paramus, authorities said.
Wearing cloth gloves and a mask, Kevin D. Howe, 29, of New Milford entered the Suit Store on Monday posing as a customer, Deputy Police Chief Robert M. Guidetti said.
“Give me all the money in the register,” Howe told the employee, he said.
The employee removed the bills, gave them to Howe, then tackled him when he turned his back, Guidetti said.

Traffic Stop Turns Up Loaded Gun In Passenger's Pocket, Rochelle Park PD Says
A passenger wanted on a warrant was carrying a loaded gun in his pocket when an Rochelle Park police officer stopped the sedan he was in, authorities said.
Officer Chris Kiszka stopped the 2004 Toyota Solara driven by Raymond Hood, 30, of Palmerton, PA for several violations on West Passaic Street around 9 p.m. Friday, Rochelle Park Police Lt. James DePreta said.
A computer check turned up the warrant out of Newark, so Hood was taken into custody, DePreta said.
