Father, Son Charged After Explosive Device Thrown Near Pennsylvania Polling Site: Prosecutors
A father and son from Catasauqua have been charged after investigators say an explosive device was thrown from a moving pickup truck near a church serving as a polling location on Election Day, authorities announced Thursday, May 21.
Jack Pletz, 24, and Matthew David Pletz, 56, are accused in the incident that unfolded around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, near Salem United Church of Christ on the 600 block of 3rd Street, according to Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan, Pennsylvania State Police Troop M, and Catasauqua police.
