Most Snowfall Expected In These Areas This Winter: AccuWeather Releases Long-Range Outlook
AccuWeather meteorologists have just unveiled their forecast for the winter of 2024-25 and have released a map of where in the US the most snowfall is expected. In the image above, higher-than-average snowfall is predicted for those areas shown in light blue, with most areas in the Northeast are expected to receive more snow this season than last winter. Areas in the darker shade are expected to see below average snowfall in 2024-25, including in much of the Mid-Atlantic states. Snow Emergencies Declared Across PA Ahead Of Storm
Officials are advising residents across southeastern and central Pennsylvania to take caution ahead of the snowstorm predicted for Friday, Jan. 19, according to National Weather Service meteorologists. Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and parts of lower Bucks and Montgomery counties are under a winter storm warning as of 5 p.m. Thursday. Maryland Man Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash In Pennsylvania, State Police Say
A 70-year-old Maryland man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Pennsylvania during the snowstorm on Tuesday, Nov. 15, authorities say. Jeff Shook was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox along Route 96, also known as Hyndman Road, in Londonderry Township when he lost control of the vehicle, Pennsylvania state police say. Three people died in a crash involving a snowplow Monday night in Montgomery County, WUSA9 reports.
