A welfare check turned standoff in the Philadelphia suburbs ended in tragedy on Tuesday, April 19, authorities said. An unidentified man died by suicide outside a home on Brandamore Road in Honey Brook around 8 p.m., West Brandywine police said. The victim was believed to be "suicidal" and "threatening harm," so police from West Brandywine, Honey Brook, and West Caln arrived around 4 p.m. to check on him, they said. A cause of death has been released for a Pennsylvania inmate who was found dead in his cell on Tuesday, March 1, LevittownNow reports. Edwin Dunfee, 46, of Philadelphia, died by suicide at the Bucks County Correctional Facility, the outlet reports citing the county's coroner. The method of death appeared to be from hanging, Coroner Meredith Buck told the outlet. A troubled Bergen County man apparently died by suicide using a running lawn mower, authorities said. Responders didn't initially know the circumstances after a relative found the 33-year-old Fair Lawn man's body in his backyard Monday afternoon. A York County man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound while driving on Route 30 on Monday, as Daily Voice previously reported.
