UPS Worker Stole Nearly $9K In Jewelry, Designer Goods From Packages In PA: Affidavit
An employee at one of UPS’s largest shipping hubs in the country stole nearly $9,000 in merchandise from packages, police in Lower Swatara Township announced on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Dandre Rayvon Sibblies, 28, of Lemoyne, was arrested for allegedly pocketing jewelry, designer sunglasses, Pokémon cards, and other items while working at the UPS Middletown Hub, located at 2110 North Union Street, police say.
Sibblies was charged with Felony Theft by Unlawful Taking and Felony Theft of Mail, according to charging documents.

A Harrisburg woman is accused of stealing nearly $146,000 in jewelry and other valuables while employed at UPS in Middletown, the Lower Swatara Township Police announced on Friday, Aug. 1.
Shaylee Nicole Garber, 34, was arrested after investigators linked her to a string of thefts from UPS shipments at the company’s facility on the 2100 block of North Union Street, according to police.
Garber allegedly made off with $145,745 worth of jewelry and additional valuable items, authorities detailed in the release.

Unemployment Claims Surge, GDP Shrinks As Recession Fears Rise Under Trump
Unemployment claims unexpectedly rose as the US economy shrank amid President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs, further escalating concerns of a coming recession.
Initial unemployment claims jumped to 241,000 for the week ending Monday, April 26, according to Department of Labor data released on Thursday, May 1. That's the largest weekly number since February and 18,000 more than the prior week.
The surge pushed the four-week moving average to 226,000 first unemployment claims. The 241,000 claims were also well above the Dow Jones estimate of 225,000, CNBC reported.
