Facebook, Instagram Issues Resolved After Widespread Outage: Meta
Facebook and Instagram users were locked out of their accounts Tuesday morning, March 5 in what appeared to have been a widespread outage. Hundreds and thousands of both Facebook and Instagram users had reported problems on DownDetector as of 11 a.m. The issue was resolved at approximately 11:45 a.m. Meta spokesman Andy Stone addressed the outage on Twitter: Earlier today, a technical issue caused people to have difficulty accessing some of our services. Philadelphia Police Name Officer Killed In Airport Shooting (

Two Philadelphia police officers were shot — one fatally — while in the parking garage at the Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday night. Officer Richard Mendez, a 50-year-old with 22 years in the department, was hit multiple times and died from his wounds, PPD brass said at a Friday evening press conference. Officer Raul Ortiz, 60, was hit once in the arm and is in stable condition at Jefferson Hospital, according to Interim Commissioner John Stanford.
