PA Cities Among 'Safest' For LGBTQ+ Pride, Study Says
When protests against LGBTQ+ are on the rise, community members (and allies) may want to look for not only the best place to celebrate during Pride month but also the safest place to live. Two Pennsylvania cities made LawnStarter's "2023's Most LGBTQ-Friendly Cities" list. Hate Crime At LGBTQ+ Center In Adams County Brings Community Together
A slur was written on the side of an LGBTQ+ counseling center in Adams County over the weekend. The slur reading in part "God Laughs Die," was sprayed in red paint outside the office of the Phoenix Counseling Center near Gettysburg on Sunday. The police were notified of this incident and informed the center is offering a reward for any tips leading to the capture of the perpetrator. Additional monitoring has been installed at the center. Ridgewood Police Roll Out Pride-Themed Vehicle
Ridgewood police on Friday unveiled a new Pride-themed patrol vehicle – a Chevy Tahoe emblazoned with two rainbow stripes, flags and lettering. “We are proud to serve and protect all citizens, regardless of their sexual identification or orientation,” village Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. “We see this patrol vehicle as a visual reminder of our intent to be an inclusive law enforcement organization.” The new vehicle was on display at Saturday’s Pride Celebration at Van Neste Square.
