Fallen trees have left nearly two thousand Central Pennsylvania residents without power, police announced on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 1. The outage was reported around 1 p.m. The fallen trees are in the 300 block of Swatara Street in Steelton, according to the police. Car Slams Into Pole, Stone Wall In Central PA
A car crashed into a utility pole and a stone wall in Susquehanna Township on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 29, Progress Fire 32 announced. The Susquehanna Township Police and multiple fire departments were called to the crash in the area of Walnut Street and Oak Street around 4:30 p.m., according to a release by the Susquehanna Township Police. : Wires Fall On Excavator Along Harrisburg Pike, Officials Say
The power was knocked in part of Cumberland after an excavator knocked the wire down on itself, New Kingston Fire Company Chief Curtis Hall announced on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The operator of the excavator was still inside when crews arrived at the scene in the 1100 block of Harrisburg Pike on Tuesday morning, according to Chief Hall. PP&L soon arrived and "determined it was safe for the operator to get out," Hall said. PP&L remained in the area to restore power to those affected. The area where the excavator was working was being used for storage.

Power Outages Reported Across Pennsylvania After Overnight Storms
Thousands of Pennsylvanians are still without power after severe thunderstorms downed trees across the region on Tuesday, July 16. The cause of death has been released for a man found dead after a "domestic incident" turned standoff ending with a house fire, the Lancaster County Coroner explained. Mark D. Hackman, 53, of 6294 High Street in East Petersburg Borough, died by a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, and the manner was suicide, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber. Power should be restored by 5:30 p.m. after a SUV plowed into a utility pole in Lititz on April 4, 2023. The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle accident with injuries in the 400 bock of Owl Hill Road Tuesday afternoon. The driver left the road way for an unknown reason and struck a PPL power pole. The driver was hurt, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. PPL is in the area making repairs. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
