Tractor-Trailer Fire On PA Rt 283 Causes Delays: PennDOT A tractor-trailer fire has caused delays on Route 283 on Thursday morning, Oct. 3, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The fire happened in the westbound lanes of PA Rt 283 between Exit: Pa. 772 – Mount Joy/Manheim And Exit: Rheems/Elizabethtown, according toe PennDOT's 511PA. Emergency crews were called to the fire around 8:45 a.m., 511PA shows. Lane restriction was put in place as crews remained on the scene. Crash Causes Major Delays On I-81: PennDOT (Developing) There's lane restriction on Interstate 81 following a multiple vehicle crash on Friday evening, Sept. 27, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler told Daily Voice.  Emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash on  on I-81 southbound 1.1 miles north of Exit 57: PA 114 - Mechanicsburg at 6:08 p.m., according to PennDOT's 511PA. Power Outage: Wires Fall On Excavator Along Harrisburg Pike, Officials Say The power was knocked in part of Cumberland after an excavator knocked the wire down on itself, New Kingston Fire Company Chief Curtis Hall announced on Tuesday, Aug. 13.  The operator of the excavator was still inside when crews arrived at the scene in the 1100 block of Harrisburg Pike on Tuesday morning, according to Chief Hall.  PP&L soon arrived and "determined it was safe for the operator to get out," Hall said.  PP&L remained in the area to restore power to those affected. The area where the excavator was working was being used for storage.
