Double Allentown Murder Suspect Surrenders: Police Gabriel Cartagena, the 44-year-old man wanted in connection with a double homicide last month in Allentown, has surrendered, police announced. Cartagena turned himself in on Thursday, Jan. 4, after warrants for his arrest on two counts of criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and various weapons offenses were issued, Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca said. Double Homicide: Infant, Woman, Man Shot In Allentown, Police Say A man, a woman, and a baby were found shot in Allentown, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio told Daily Voice on Saturday.  The unnamed 66-year-old man, a 44-year-old woman, and a 1-year-old infant were found shot in the 100 block of Chestnut Street, Allentown, Lehigh County, at 8:49 p.m. on Dec. 29, the coroner detailed.  The woman was pronounced dead at 9:59 PM and the baby boy was pronounced dead at 10:01 p.m., according to coroner Buglio.  The man was found wounded at the scene and was taken by Allentown EMS to a local hospital, the Allentown police explaine…

Man Hospitalized After Falling Into Lehigh Valley River, Police Say Emergency crews came to the rescue of a man who fell into a Lehigh Valley river on Thursday, May 19, authorities said. Allentown Police responded to Adams Island and found the victim submerged in the river just after 7:15 p.m., Police Chief Charles Roca said. Officers Kayla Balatgek and Andrew Gehringer immediately entered the river and removed the man from the water, where EMS crews began performing CPR, Roca said. Man Hospitalized After Shooting At Allentown Gas Station: Police A man in Allentown was shot early Friday morning, authorities said. Officers were called around 5:20 a.m. to the Sunoco gas station and 7-Eleven on 12th and Hamilton Streets on a report of shots fired, where they found the man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Allentown police said in a news release. The unidentified man was treated at the scene before being taken to an area hospital by Allentown EMS, police said. He was in serious condition, authorities at the scene told WFMZ. Officers found the victims suffering non life-threatening injuries outside of Antojos Restaurant on 4th Street around 2:20 a.m., police say.
