North Philly Resident Shoots Robber Climbing Through Window, Cops Say

A north Philadelphia store resident sent a would-be thief to the hospital early on Thursday, Dec. 22, police say.

The suspect climbed into a window of a building on the 2700 block of Germantown Avenue at around 4:30 a.m., authorities told Daily Voice. Once inside, the resident shot him. 

The suspect was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was placed in critical condition, authorities said. Police described the suspect as a Latino man in his 20s but did not reveal his name. 

The weapon was recovered at the scene, and police "held" the accused shooter for questioning, according to the department. The investigation is ongoing, detectives added.
