A man was found with drugs following a hit-and-run crash into a horse-and-buggy on Tuesday, Aug. 13, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Aug. 21. John Levi Reed IV, 51, of Williamstown, was taken into custody at 7:38 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, for a drug offense after troopers were called to a report of a "suspicious person" in Jackson Township, according to a separate release attached in the same PSP file. A medical issue sent a car into someone's front yard on Saturday, police in Lititz announced on Sunday afternoon. The driver of a sedan was heading north of South Broad Street/PA Route 501 when they "experienced a sudden medical issue causing them to lose control of the vehicle. A crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Interstate 76 caused delays across Dauphin and Lebanon counties on Thursday night. Funeral details and a statement from the family have been released after five women returning from Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia were killed on Interstate 81 on Tuesday evening, Jan. 16. The women "were on their way back home from the Dulles airport," their family told Daily Voice. They were struck dead by a tractor-trailer at the 199.3-mile marker in Scott Township, approximately 12 miles north of Scranton, troopers detailed in a release. The tractor-trailer cab was hauling the milk tanker when it crashed at mile marker 236.8, between the Dauphin Narrows and the Front St exit when it crashed, according to PennDOT spokesperson Fritzi Schreffler.
