An Allentown dad pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of his 3-year-old son, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024. Jose Hilario Abreu, 29, admitted guilt to Involuntary Manslaughter of a Child Under 12 and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, both second-degree felonies, as part of a plea agreement. A second victim has died from injuries following a home explosion in Lackawanna County, authorities said. Leon W. The Topton man who died after crashing into a tree in Mertztown on Tuesday night, April 16 was Allan G. Levin, according to officials. The Lehigh County Coroner's Office said Levin, 51, hit a tree on the 700 block of State Street around 10:30 p.m. He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest where he died from multiple blunt force injuries about an hour later, the Coroner's Office said.
