PA Mom Pleads Guilty In Toddler's Fentanyl Overdose Death, DA Says An Allentown mother has pleaded guilty in connection with the death of her 22-month-old son from a fentanyl overdose in 2021, District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024. Jayleen Rivas-Rodriguez, 35, admitted to charges of: Involuntary Manslaughter and Endangering the Welfare of a Child during a hearing before Judge Anna-Kristie M. Marks, officials said. Fellow Inmate Charged In Dad's Death In Dauphin County Prison The cause of death of a Pennsylvania father and inmate has been revealed and new charges have been filed, the Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo announced on Tuesday.  Michael Howard Butler II, 37 of Gratz, died following a "medical emergency" in his bunk in the Dauphin County Prison at 10:22 p.m. on Jan. 17, 2024, as Daily Voice previously reported.  It is now known that the emergency was caused by a fentanyl overdose from what Richard Leonard Weikel thought was heroin which he had smuggled into the prison in his shoe, the DA explained in the release on March 26.&n…
