A 19-year-old man has been airlifted to the hospital and charged in the crash that sent him there, Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg announced on Thursday. Lazarus Anders Burleson of Mont Alto was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trail Blazer north on Black Gap Road when he attempted to turn left onto Scotland Main Street, PSP troopers explained. Carlos Martinez-Franco Extradited For Chambersburg Rape
A man accused of raping a girl in Pennsylvania who was arrested in Texas has finally been extradited for his trial, police announced on Monday, May 6. Carlos Martinez-Franco was arrested on a warrant in Conroe, TX on March 4, 2024, according to the police release. The charge stems from an alleged assault in the 200 block of East Liberty Street/US Route 11 in Chambersburg on July 12, 2016, court records show. A major retailer primarily located in malls and headquartered in Pennsylvania is set to close all 543 of its stores following its third Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Closures for all rue21 locations are expected to be completed within the next two months with going-out-of-business sales coming soon. Van Full Of Cash Robbed At Gunpoint By Trio At Southgate Mall: Chambersburg PD
A trio of armed robbers is on the loss, Chambersburg police announced on Monday evening. The call to the armed robbery of a van full of cash at Southgate Mall in Chambersburg came in at 1:05 p.m. on March 18, area police detailed in a release. The robbers "stole several cases containing money from a vehicle and held the occupants at gunpoint," the police said noting that they "then fled the scene in a white Ford van." A trooper who crashed his patrol vehicle into a street sign will not be charged, according to a Pennsylvania State Police release on Thursday, March 7. Trooper Daniel C. Multiple school buses had their tires slashed Chambersburg Police announced on Saturday, March 2. The police came to investigate the "criminal mischief" in the 100 block of East South Street on Feb. 26, as stated in the release.
