Mom Of 4 Killed In Schuylkill County Crash: Lehigh County Coroner A 37-year-old mother of four was killed in a crash after striking several parked cars on Monday, Sept. 9 in Schuylkill County, authorities announced the following morning. Lisa Marie Dimitri, of Pottsville, was pronounced dead in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest at 10:20 a.m., according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. Horse Struck Dead By Van, No Charges Filed: PA State Police A horse was struck dead by a minivan in Salisbury Township on Thursday, Sep. 5, Pennsylvania State Police announced the following day.  The 2011 Dodge Caravan driven by 20-year-old Leon Lapp of Atglen struck a horse standing on Churchtown Road just south of Main Street at 6:01 a.m., PSP Lancaster Trooper Joshua Croyle wrote in the release.   The Caravan was going south on the Road when it hit the horse then continued across the northbound lane of traffic, off the road, into a PP&L utility pole, Trooper Croyle explained.  The horse died from the initial impact of the…

Firefighters Rescue Child In Car At Parking Lot Outside East Drumore Giant Quarryville firefighters rescued a child locked in a car Thursday, Aug. 15.  The company received the call to the child locked in a vehicle at 4:05 p.m. They were found locked in the SUV pictured in the parking lot outside of the Giant grocery store in East Drumore Township.  No injuries were reported. Water Balloons Thrown From Bridge Damage Cars On Rt 222: Ephrata Police Cars were damaged after items thought to be water balloons were thrown from an overpass, Ephrata police announced on Friday, Aug. 2.  Two vehicles were heading north on Route 222 when they were struck by the falling items at the East Mohler Church Road overpass, around midnight on Aug, 1. "One vehicle sustained a large dent to the hood, and the other sustained a cracked windshield," the police stated in the release.  Anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to contact Officer Martin with the Ephrata Police Department.

1 Hospitalized After Train Strikes Vehicle In Lancaster Co.: Authorities One person is in the hospital after their vehicle was struck by a train on Tuesday, July 30, a supervisor with Lancaster County Wide Communication told Daily Voice. The call to the train versus car collision at the railroad crossing in the 2500 block of Horse Road in Upper Leacock Township came into LCWC around 4 p.m. One person in the vehicle was taken to the hospital, and their injuries are reportedly minor.  The road was closed at 5:15 p.m. as emergency crews remained on the scene.
