Winners with Keystone State ties include:
Quinta Brunson, 32, of Philadelphia, won her first Emmy for outstanding writing for a comedy series for the ABC sitcom "Abbott Elementary."
It stars Brunson as second-grade teacher Janine Teagues who strives to give her students the best learning experience at the fictional predominantly Black school in Philadelphia.
Amanda Seyfried, 36, of Allentown, also snagged her first award for outstanding lead actress in a limited series or TV movie for her starring role as Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes on Hulu's "The Dropout."
Rounding out the first-timers list, Michael Keaton, 71, of Coraopolis, won the award for outstanding lead actor in a limited series or TV movie for his performance as Dr. Samuel Finnix on Hulu's "Dopesick."
The show is about the opioid crisis and how pharmaceutical companies and doctors contribute to it.
Another highlight of the night included 65-year-old Sheryl Lee Ralph's first Emmy win as an outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series for her work on "Abbott Elementary."
Zendaya, 26, also made history by becoming the youngest person and first Black woman to snag two awards in any category. She was recognized for her performance as a lead actress in the HBO drama "Euphoria."
