A driver in Delaware County received more than just a ticket after a traffic stop early Tuesday morning, authorities say. Police in Marple Township signaled for a silver 2019 Nissan Sentra to pull over just after midnight on Feb. 21, the department wrote in a release. A 17-year-old boy accused of starting the gunfight that killed 8-year-old Fanta Bility outside of an Academy Park High School football game in August 2021 is back in police custody after months of being on the run, authorities said. Coroner ID's Lehigh Valley Driver Who Fatally Crashed Into House
Authorities have identified the Lehigh Valley driver who died after crashing into a Northampton County home Thursday night but are still working to figure out exactly how it happened. Gregory Allen Mertz, 63, of Palmerton, was declared dead at the scene of the accident on Riverview Drive/State Route 145 in Lehigh Township on Dec. 22, Coroner Zachary Lysek said in a statement. A shooting rampage left seven people dead including the gunman at a Chesapeake, VA Walmart Tuesday, Nov. 22 — just two days before Thanksgiving, authorities said. Police used tactical force to enter the Battlefield Boulevard Walmart at Sam's Circle on reports of an "active shooter" at 10:12 p.m., and found multiple bodies, a Chesapeake police spokesman told reporters. Police Car Crash Among 2 Accidents On Route 13 Less Than 90 Mins Apart
A crash involving a police car was among two accidents that occurred on Route 13 Monday, Oct. 3, less than 90 minutes apart. The first accident involving a pickup truck and sedan was reported around 6:50 p.m. at the Levittown Parkway intersection in Tullytown, fire officials and LevittownNow said. Happy Ending At Newark Airport After Thief Snatches Wedding Band At TSA Checkpoint
A thief was steps from fleeing with a fellow traveler's wedding band at Newark Airport when TSA and Port Authority officers teamed up to catch him, authorities said. Told that the ring was missing from a screened bin, a Transportation Security Administration supervisor reviewed surveillance video and saw the thief snatch it, the TSA's Lisa Farbstein said.
