Beloved and devoted Northampton County teacher Peter R. McCabe died unexpectedly at the age of 37. Born in New York City, Peter grew up in Forks Township, Easton, before graduating from Easton Area High School in 2003, his obituary says. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in English Education from the Citadel, the Military College of SC, Charleston, in 2007, as well as a master’s in Educational Development and Strategies from Wilkes University in 2011, his memorial says. Impersonator Swings Sword While Threatening To Kill People In Pennsylvania: Police
A Pennsylvania man who previously served time after posing as a New York City police officer as part of a green card scam has been arrested yet again, police said in a release on Friday, Sept. 23. Richard Gomez, 51, of Lebanon, was swinging a sword when he threatened to kill two victims who were walking in the 500 block of Cumberland Street around 11:40 p.m. Sept. 8, Lebanon City police say. One Pennsylvania Bed Bath & Beyond store will shutter by the end of the year, the company announced this week. The company said earlier this year it planned on closing 150 stores, and on Thursday, Sept. 15, released a list of 56 that will close by the end of 2022. A former Lehigh University student accused of making threats directed at a group of students has been arrested, authorities said. Muhammad Diop, 20, was taken into custody in New York City by local police Wednesday, Aug. 31 without incident, university police said. Body Pulled From Blue Marsh Lake Identified: Report
A body pulled from Blue Marsh Lake in Berks County over the weekend has been identified, WFMZ reports. Crews were called to the Dry Brooks Day Use Area, where the body of Ernesto Feliz, 27, of New York City, was recovered from the water Sunday, July 24, the outlet says. Officials told WFMZ the man was going after a ball in the lake when he swam too far out and never made it back to shore.
