Area police reported scattered outages as wind and rain pulled down power lines. Lower Saucon Township police reported that Lower Saucon Road was closed between Woodland Road and Woodland Hills Court due to a tree down on power wires. Upper Saucon Township police reported that Oakhurst Drive was closed between Stonesthrow Road and Old Bethlehem Pike due to utility lines across the roadway. The incidents were reported late morning on Friday, Aug. 9. Meanwhile, due to the severe weather, the Doylestown Township Administrative Offices closed at 2:30 p.m.

Pedestrian Hospitalized In Lehigh Valley Hit-And-Run Crash, $10K Reward For Clues: Police
A pedestrian was hospitalized following a hit-and-run crash in the Lehigh Valley, and authorities are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for clues on the suspect vehicle. The crash occurred in the 2300 block of Easton Rd. between Ringhoffer Rd. and Beechwood Ct. in Lower Saucon Township around 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, local police said in a release on Thursday, Sept. 8. Witnesses Sought After Lehigh Valley Hit-And-Run Crash Takes Down Wires, Closes Road (

See anything? Police are seeking information following a hit-and-run crash that took down wires and caused a several-hour road closure in the Lehigh Valley. The crash — which involved a truck —occurred on the 2700 block of Redington Road in Lower Saucon Township around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, local police said. The truck was heading toward Lower Saucon Road when it took down numerous Verizon wires before leaving the scene, closing the roadway for several hours, police said.
