Man Arrested With 'Weapon Of Mass Destruction' Was Wanted In Northampton County
A 42-year-old man from Northampton County was arrested on a warrant related to his possessing an explosive device, authorities said. Thomas Stocker Jr. was arrested on Friday, Aug. 30 in Monroe County, according to Slate Belt Regional Police. One of his charges is possessing or manufacturing weapons of mass destruction, police said. On April 25, at approximately 10 p.m., a Slate Belt Regional Police Officer on patrol observed a male walking on the shoulder in the 800 block of Bangor Road. Explosives Found Inside Lehigh Valley Home
State police paid a visit to a Northampton County home early Saturday and left with two explosives, authorities say. Troopers were called to a residence on Flafair Drive in Williams Township around 10:45 a.m. on May 20 for a report of a found grenade, they wrote in a release. At the scene, a second grenade was eventually discovered. Both weapons were found to be "inert," and the Bethlehem Bomb Squad took possession of the explosives, troopers said. No one was injured and police say no charges will be filed in connection with the find.

Police ID Pair Plaguing PA Neighborhood With Explosions For Weeks, Police Say
Authorities in Northampton County say they have identified the pair responsible for a series of explosions in the area. Slate Belt Regional police were called to East Laurel Avenue in Pen Argyl at 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 after residents reported hearing a large explosion, the department said in a release. Authorities noted that they had received "numerous" similar complaints in the neighborhood "beginning several months earlier." A Northampton County truck driver was under the influence when he was stopped by police who found several explosives, leading to the discovery of a narcotics manufacturing operation out of his home, authorities said. Danny Berou, 32, was behind the wheel of a red Ford F-350 when he was pulled over for a violation around 4:30 a.m. on July 18, North Catasauqua Police said in a Friday release. A Mechanicsburg man is facing a weapons of mass destruction charge after a failed attempt to make fireworks, say police. Johnathan Park, 33, was arrested after he attempted to make fireworks on his bed in his apartment in 500 block of Geneva Drive, according to police. A Philadelphia pair is facing up to 90 years in prison for their alleged attempt to rob a Wawa with multiple explosive devices during last year's widespread Black Lives Matter protests, federal authorities announced.
