A Tobyhanna man is accused of pointing a gun at his family and fleeing police by jumping out of a window, according to Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Chris Wagner on Monday, Dec. 9. Donti Jackson, 21, is charged with felony aggravated assault, felony escape, misdemeanor terroristic threats, and other related offenses, following the incident at 7032 Vista Drive in Tobyhanna, police said. Twin brothers caught stealing beer assaulted an officer in the Poconos, police announced on Friday, Sept. 13. Xaziver and Gabriel Valle, both 19-year-old Tobyhanna residents were arrested on Thursday, Sept. 12, Mountain Regional Police detailed in the release. Staff at the Weis Market located at 601 PA-940 Ste 116, Mt Pocono, called the police after Xaziver was seen putting beverages in a backpack, according to the release. Motorcyclist, 26, Killed In Hit-Run Crash Was From Mount Pocono
A 26-year-old motorcyclist from Mount Pocono was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Monroe County, authorities said. The fatal crash occurred at about 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 on State Route 611 at Cayuga Drive in Coolbaugh Township. A Pennsylvania man was arrested in Bergen County, NJ after authorities said he extorted a victim over Snapchat using nude photos. A 46-year-old man from Frostproof, Florida was arrested after state police said they found over a dozen improvised explosive devices in his vehicle. The unnamed man was stopped in Tobyhanna on July 5 and "deemed to be under the influence," according to troopers. Authorities obtained a warrant and said they found 13 explosives during a search of his GMC Sierra. A Monroe County man who went missing more than a decade ago died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to officials. The remains of Stephen C. Lepore were unearthed at 95 Peet Road in Dreher Township, Wayne County, said the Coroner's Office. A Monroe County man faces criminal trespassing charges for allegedly trying to sneak into a police impound lot and remove marijuana from his confiscated car, authorities say.
